Privacy Policy

When you create an account, we collect your name and email address.

When you add a property, we collect the address and any details you choose to enter (year built, square footage, systems, etc.).

When you upload documents, we store the file and metadata you provide — title, category, date, vendor, and amount.

When you verify ownership, we temporarily process a photo of your government-issued ID. We read your name from it, check it against property records, and then delete the image within 90 days. We do not retain your ID number, date of birth, or address from the document.

We collect standard server logs (IP address, timestamp, page visited) for security and debugging. These are not linked to your identity for marketing purposes.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to third parties. Ever.

To provide the Home Pro service — displaying your property records, maintenance tasks, and documents to you.

To verify property ownership — matching your name against public tax and deed records.

To send you notifications you've opted into, such as maintenance reminders and warranty alerts.

To run AI-powered document extraction, which reads your uploaded files to fill in metadata automatically.

To improve the product — we may analyze aggregate, anonymized usage patterns. We never analyze individual user data for this purpose.

Home Pro uses the following external services, each with their own privacy practices:

• Amazon Web Services (AWS): Hosts our servers and databases. Stores your documents in encrypted S3 buckets. Data center: US-East (Ohio).
• Anthropic (Claude API): Powers AI document extraction. Your uploaded documents are sent to Anthropic's API for text analysis. Anthropic does not retain your data to train models by default. See anthropic.com/privacy.
• Amazon Cognito: Manages authentication and sign-in. Stores your hashed password and account credentials.
• Google Maps Platform: Used for address autocomplete when you add a property. Google receives the address you type. See policies.google.com/privacy.

We do not use advertising networks or analytics platforms that track you across other sites.

You can do any of these at any time from your account settings or by emailing us:

• →Opt out of non-essential communications

We will fulfill deletion requests within 30 days. Some data may be retained slightly longer in automated backups, which are overwritten on a rolling 90-day cycle.

We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

Home Pro is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email before they take effect. Minor clarifications won't require notification but will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
